I was browsing the MAC Cosmetics Facebook page again and came across some more lip inspiration. The show in regard was Virtues by Ashish & Viral Parekh SS14 at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. The look consisted of beautiful skin, bold brows, lash-y eyes and a bold, matte fuchsia red lip. I instantly fell in love when I stumbled upon these images so I will let the pictures do the talking.
Random finds are always exciting, especially when they work well beyond your wildest dreams. A couple weeks ago, I was randomly browsing the Essence section at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. If you have not heard about Essence Cosmetics, then you need to get on it. German cosmetics with superb quality at the very lowest of prices are what I’m talking about. Seriously. Items from the line range from 0.99 – 4.99 tops. I have tried my fair share from the line and have been sufficiently pleased with everything.
You all probably know about the hype surrounding NARS blushes. All I can add to the dialogue is that all of the praise is deserved. I am a true blush junkie and my NARS blushes are some of my favourites. The texture and staying power of these bad boys is truly nothing short of a miracle. The colours they come in are splendid and NARS packaging is just divine. I thought I would dedicate a little post on this blog to one of the most loved areas of my makeup collection.
For today’s post, I thought I would incorporate the other love of my life. While I love beauty and all that, I am also quite obsessed with fashion. By no means am I ZOMG!TOTALLY!FASHIONABLE! but I wear what I like and like what I wear. Here’s the first of many fashion related posts to come, a look at what is inside my bag.
Every so often you come across a product that is just amazing and you want to talk to everyone about it and sometimes you often have to consciously stop yourself from doing so. That product for me is the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation. I discovered this last year and while it did take some time for me to appreciate it, the love is now strong. At first, my biggest gripe about it was that I could never really find a colour match for myself. I thought that Medium 54 was way too dark and Medium 52 was way too light. It was when I finally decided to stop judging the colours based on swatches and asked for a sample, when I saw the light. Medium 52 blended seamlessly into my neck and it really was a good match. Learn from my mistake and ask for samples to truly get the full trial experience of a foundation.
The cool weather brings upon itself many wonderful additions. Among them, my favourite, are the dark, vampy, fall lip colours. As a lip junkie, I yearn for this time of the year constantly. While I can sport a dark lip in the summer, it just does not seem as appropriate. Now is the time where I can do so and yes, it feels good. I own my fair share of dark lip colours and whilst it was hard to round up 10 favourites, I was able to do it (oh the tough life I live).
As promised, here is the second part to my on-going blog column of drugstore favourites. Today, I have a BB cream, some mascaras and some bronzers to share.
