Do you like the acronym? The concept behind it is a pretty nifty one. It is regarded as the one look eyeshadow and the notion behind these shadows is that they work well as stand alones of a look. Swipe one shadow across the lid, blend it, apply eyeliner, mascara and you are good to go!
I am not one for intricate eyeshadow looks, because I do not possess the skill (because believe me, if I did, I would be using those skills), so these kinds of eyeshadows are my favourites. I find that shimmery shadows work better for this than mattes and velvets, as those often need the help of other shades to look livelier. Shimmery eyeshadows carry the show on their own and for that, they are the stars of one shadow looks. I purposely focused on eyeshadow singles but palettes often have many SSS in them as well.

These are just a list of my favourites (of which are mostly neutrals) but the criterion for SSS is quite flexible and does not discriminate against any colours. As long as the shade looks good as a single, offers some dimension and requires little to no fuss in its application, it can be deemed a SSS. What are some of your favourite SSS? I would love to know!
Take some time out of your day today (and everyday) to remember and honour those who fought and continue to fight for our peace and freedom. Our country and the world would not be the same without their sacrifices and we thank them for that. We remember.
