The statistics on my blog (fancy schmancy, I know) has shown that my MAC Lipstick posts are some of my most popular. So in the light of giving the people what they want, I have a couple more to feature here! These 5 neutral lipsticks from MAC are some current favourites that have been receiving a lot of wear time. I have gotten into wearing eyeshadow more frequently and I find the balance between a full eyeshadow look + a neutral lip a lot more appropriate for everyday. Unfortunately, this means that I have been neglecting my bold lipsticks, but I’m sure they will be loved again when the weather warms up in the spring!
Can anyone else relate?! If needed, I will screencap the image and then ZOOM in to get a closer look #dedication.
Along with makeup, one of my other loves is celebrity culture and news. Celebrity makeup artists bring my two loves together and combine them in the most perfect way possible. Instagram is a great resource for checking out celebrity makeup artists and their ventures in the Hollywood makeup scene. It is also a great way to find out the products worn by some of your favourite celebrities. As it is currently awards season, I have been on top of hounding these accounts for the latest updates.
I finished my #30blush challenge a week ago and thought it might be interesting to whip up a blog post about the process. To sum up the pretty basic challenge, I had to wear a different blush for 30 days in an effort to explore my collection and refrain from repeatedly using the same ones.
I have been a cream eyeshadow fan for a while but nothing I previously tried has impressed me as much as the Caviar Stick Eye Colours by Laura Mercier. I discovered them last summer and since, have worked on developing and expanding my collection. The holiday set from last winter allowed me to accumulate many different shades from the line and converted me from a fan to a full on stan. If you have not yet tried these cream eye colours from Laura Mercier, you need to get on it!
After a relaxing and wonderful holiday break, I’m feeling rejuvenated and motivated for 2015. One of my goals for the new year is to work on improving and growing my blog. In 2014, my posts were a little sporadic and I want to change that by updating more frequently. In addition, I want to focus on my photography (lighting is the bane of my existence!!) and writing skills and really work at making this blog the best that it can be. Now that these resolutions are in print and on the Internet, I can hold myself accountable for my actions.
To start off the new year, I wanted to write up a blog post on some of my favourite products from 2014. In order to keep the list as open and accurate as possible, I gave myself no specific criteria to meet. Basically, I loved and used these products a lot in 2014 and are items that immediately came into my head when I think about my year in beauty. They may not have been newly released, discovered or even purchased in 2014, but they are products that I have used a ton through out the past year. I know that these are truly my top picks because I was able to recite them off the top of my head (or it just means that my brain is filled with too much beauty information haha).
If you have been on Instagram and YouTube recently, you have probably heard the hype around ColourPop Cosmetics. They are a new California company that make pigment intense eyeshadows called Super Shock Shadows, lip colour sticks called Lippie Stix and lip pencils called Lippie Pencils. I am not usually one to succumb to online hype, which can actually completely turn me off certain brands and products. However, the $5 price tag was too good to be ignored and they pulled at my lip-loving heartstrings so I gave them a chance. I am happy that I did because these products are flippin’ fantastic! I picked up 2 Super Shock Shadows, 4 Lippie Stix and 4 Lippie Pencils and here are my thoughts on them.
Bye November and HELLO DECEMBER! It is finally my favourite month of the year! My birthday and Christmas all in one month sure as heck make it a wonderful time of year. It has been a while since my last favourites post so let’s just get to it!
